How to place Text on an Image in Photoshop

Hello guys, in this tutorial I am going to show you how to place text over an image using Adobe Photoshop. This is quite simple of a tutorial and any person, be it an amateur or a newbie can do it in a couple of minutes.
Just for a demo, I'm posting the final result before starting the tutorial. This is what we are trying to achieve.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1:

Open your background image in Adobe Photoshop

Step 2:

Duplicate the background layer and create a new layer between the two layers and fill it with white.

Step 3:

Using the text tool, create a new text layer on the top most layer and write your text.

Step 4:

Move the text layer in between the duplicated and the white layer.

Step 5:

Keeping the top most layer selected click on Layers and then Create Clipping Mask or simply press Ctrl+Alt+G on the keyboard.

That's it. You're done. Export your file and save it as .jpeg extention

Note: For a different colored background just fill the empty layer created with desired color or dont fill it to leave it transparent. If you want to leave it transparent make sure the original "Background" layer is turned invisible.
