Upgrade your Windows 8 PC to Windows 8.1 before 13th May - Microsoft [How to]

Windows 8 users, there is some news for you. If you are using the old version of the OS, i.e. Windows 8 instead of the update, i.e. Windows 8.1, its time you let your things go a bit and sneak some of your busy time out of the schedule to update your PC/Laptop. Microsoft has made the 8.1 update compulsory for all Windows 8 users.

Recently some changes were made to the 8.1 version to make it more friendly to the people who use the OS with the keyboard and the mouse and do not have touch. Windows 8 has always been touch friendly so touch users have nothing to worry about except updating their PC's if needed. Microsoft have declared that there will be no more security updates to the older version of Windows 8 and they will release updates only for the 8.1 and the later versions if they come leaving your PC vulnerable to all the possible new threats and viruses. So better pull up your socks and start downloading the update.

How to update your Windows 8 PC to Windows 8.1

Step 1:
Go to the start menu by pressing the windows key.

Step 2:
Find and click on Store.

Step 3:
Since it is an important update, Store will display it right as the first post. Click on it and follow the instructions.

Your PC will then reboot. After the reboot, you will be asked to login to a Microsoft account. If you have one, just enter the details or create a new one. A Microsoft Account is necessary for Windows 8.1.
